The Phoenix Excavator Who Thinks Like a Builder
Andy Mitchell owns and operates Mitchell Excavating. He's a former licensed residential General Contractor with deep heavy-industrial roots.
Meet Your Phoenix Excavation Contractor
Andy is the Phoenix excavation contractor behind every Mitchell Excavating job. His construction background runs broader than most. First, he earned his license as a residential General Contractor. Then he spent years as a construction foreman on a $45 million greenfield milling and concentrator facility at Stillwater Mining Company. There he installed SAG, Ball & Rod mills, flotation cells, pumps, buildings and the piping that ties them together.
That experience translates directly to the dirt. When we cut a pad, dig a trench or rough in a pool, we already know what's getting built on top. In addition, we understand the tolerances the trades behind us actually need.
Company History
We founded Mitchell Excavating in 2004 with active operations in Roosevelt, Utah. Then in 2021 we relocated the business to Phoenix, Arizona. Today we're a fixture in the North Phoenix area. We handle pad work, septic, utilities, pools and demolition for builders, developers and homeowners across Maricopa County.
Mission
"Provide professional quality service for all of your excavating needs."
How We Staff Jobs
We stay intentionally lean. Andy runs the equipment on every project. Meanwhile, we bring in extra help as the scope demands. In short, you hire us, you get us - no project managers, no subbed-out crews.
Got a Tough Hillside Lot or a Tight Build Window?
We tackle the projects other excavators pass on. Tell us about your site and we'll come walk it with you.
